On Wednesday 19th June, Citizens UK held a unique summit of national leaders from Britain’s major civil society institutions, including faith and educational leaders. Speakers at the Planning Ahead for a Generation summit included:

The Most Revd. Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury;
Professor Simon Gaskell, Principal of Queen Mary, University of London;
The Most Revd. Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster (Roman Catholic);
Farooq Murad, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain
Frances O’Grady, TUC General Secretary
Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner, Movement Rabbi of Reform Judaism

They aim to build a strong alliance to influence the 2015 General Election and to drive a new wave of social action for the next decade and beyond.

The event, hosted at Queen Mary, University of London, launched an ambitious strategy to influence the future of democracy and strengthen communities through Community Organising.
